Does not the human heart long for that which is imperishable? Something that will live on, is stronger than death, and is unfathomable in its scope. Such is the believer's inheritance in Christ.
Does not the human heart long for that which is uncorrupted? Something untainted by the world, untouched by sin, and free of any defect, shortcoming, or inconsistency. Such is the believer's inheritance in Christ.
Does not the human heart long for that which is unfading? Something unchanging that withstands the test of time without moving or decreasing in value. Such is the believer's inheritance in Christ.
You may not know much about God, but know this: He gives lavishly, and the recipients of His gifts are always undeserving.
Just in this one verse God has given believing sinners new life, a hope that is alive, His very own Son as Savior, and an inheritance that we can now only glimpse, but will one day know fully. As surely as the Lord lives, that inheritance is kept in heaven for you who believe.
